My name is Chiara Winawer-Stein, and I’m currently a senior at Woodstock Union High School. I’ve been a teacher’s assistant at The Community Campus since March of 2024. I was given this opportunity to further my interest in journalism and also provide a platform for people to get a good grasp of just what we do at TCC and our mission. In my time working here, I have gained a fair amount of work experience and learned how to navigate working in childcare, from both the kids and my coworkers.

One of the first things I noticed about TCC was how we talk to kids at a sophisticated level. We hold them to a standard that allows them to be respected as much as we teach them to maintain respect for others. They can then apply this to other parts of their lives–at TCC, school, and at home. One of the main things I value at TCC is its commitment to giving opportunities to as many kids as possible, regardless of their circumstance.
