Do you and your partner need a night off? Do you struggle to find time for a date night with your special someone, or to catch up with friends, or just to enjoy a night to yourself? Well, you’re in luck. We host monthly Saturday night events that offer you that opportunity. Our events value your time and well-being, as well as your kids’ creative expression, fun, and opportunity to socialize. From 5 to 9, your kids can enjoy a night full of games, crafts, pizza, and a movie, while you use that free time to wind down, get things done, and take care of yourself. We also organize family events, if you want to join in on the fun or participate in a separate adult activity. In April, we split our event into two- one for the kids at our establishment, and a paint and sip event at Billings Farm during the same hours. Our events follow a special, curated theme. At our most recent fireflies event, the kids made mason jar lanterns, ate pizza and a special dessert, and watched Zootopia 2 to wind down. Previously, families attended an event at Billings Farm and competed in a game night; the winners claimed the TCC golden trophy. Our events always have a themed craft, creatively designed by the craft expert, Suzanna, one of our teachers, and you can be sure that we provide adequate supervision, with multiple teachers and teacher’s assistants guiding each event.
These events aren’t just for your benefit, but for the kids as well. Kids take this chance to spend time with friends at TCC in a different setting, making these events a great substitute for a playdate for your kid. If you are worried about sending them to a different house or you can’t work it out, these events are a great exception, as this is a great way for them to see friends on the weekends- without creating a chaotic environment in a home environment, and it is a nice change from the short time spent at after-school. Additionally, if your children tend to stay up late, this is a great way to have them spend that time awake doing fun activities and expending that energy so that when they get picked up, they’re closer to being ready for bed. After winding down with a movie and a dessert, they get sent home with full bellies and the satisfaction of time spent. The Manning Family children’s health organization states that: “Physical exercise during the day can have a positive impact on a child’s sleep. In general, we recommend 20 to 30 minutes of active play outdoors or on a playground. This helps burn off excess energy, which in turn makes them tired and contributes to a deeper and more restful sleep at night. Additionally, make sure your children complete vigorous activities at least a few hours before bedtime”. Our inclusion of physical play and games outdoors or in our upstairs space can give your children that physical outlet that they may need to get out of the way for a restful result. This is also a great way to give your kids and yourself a break from restrictions many may follow to ensure that you’re parenting right, like minimizing video games or junk food. Having one special night where they can watch a movie, eat pizza, and have dessert, and a great example being our annual March Madness arcade game night, they can experience a special treat, which is great in regulation. We also aim not just to have them relax, have fun, and wind down- but use their creative muscles with crafts and activities, as well as exercise their brains, with events like trivia night- where we turn knowledge into something fun.
Overall, our events can provide a needed space for parents to make use of free time, while providing lots of social opportunities for the kids, and establishing a tradition that is one of the things that makes TCC special.
